Hosanna 2020 released

An interesting release today from Hosanna in Pomerol, releasing their wine slightly down on the 2019 price. (a decrease of -4.7% on the 2019’s initial offer and makes the 2020 3% less expensive than the 2019 at its current Market Price)

The wine has been scored 99-100 by James Suckling, who said it showed, “very intense, old-vine character with bark, black mushroom and dark fruit”. Might it be the estate’s “best ever?” he asked.

James Lawther MW for JancisRobinson.com scored the wine 17.5, noting its, “purity and precision on the nose”, as well as its, “velvety smooth” texture and tannins. He also questioned whether it had “less lift” than the 2019 however.

Given its score from Suckling, the new release looks well-pitched and will no doubt still look compelling if it receives at least 97 from Neal Martin and other critics.
