Cheval Blanc 2020 released

Cheval Blanc 2020 was released this morning being offered at £4,656 per 12×75, a 3.5% increase on the 2019’s initial offer (£4,500) but 2.7% down on its current Market Price.

With only a slight increase in price and an increase in stock released, as the first Grand Cru release, Cheval Blanc could very well set the pace for this year’s En Primeur campaign – with more major châteaux expected to release in the coming days. Early reports already suggest strong sales.

This year’s Cheval Blanc is a blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. In line with increased production, volumes released onto the market are reportedly 20% up on last year.

The wine was among Jean-Marc Quarin’s favourites, awarding it 99 points. Falstaff’s Peter Moser gave it a barrel range of 95-97.

The 2020 Cheval Blanc will look compelling if it receives a score of 96 or more from Neal Martin and other major critics, who are expected to release their assessments towards the end of the month.

This is a wine that we expect to list in some of our syndicates.
